We have updated our JBoss from 4.3 to 7.3 and Java from 1.6 to 1.8. And there is one module in particular in our project that does not compile. Can someone please point me where to look for fixing this?

I can't figure out whether there's something wrong with the jasper module or if iti simply can't find SLF4J (We did remove SLF4J from the project). Maybe the jasper module calls SLF4J code and its not there anymore?
And why does it say No Java compiler available?
I am new to work on Geoserver, now i have a requirement to run geoserver over https. I had followed some steps to configure jetty for https but it didn't work,i might have went wrong somewhere.

I am not so good in java too.
Don't run the platform independent binary in production!
If you still need to add HTTPS support then you need to follow the Eclipse instructions to add HTTPS to Jetty.
Without knowing how far you got along that path it's impossible to give any further advice.
I have a created a gradle project HERE to experiment with the symbolic link creation. I have written a gradle task runScript that in turn executes a groovy script myscript.groovy that has the logic for symbolic link creation.
NOTE : valid_symlink branch makes use of SNIPPET 1 and invalid_symlink makes use of SNIPPET 2. So instead of uncommenting the SNIPPETS and running the task, you can just switch to respective branch and run the task.
With SNIPPET 1 of myscript.groovy
Whenever I try executing the task runScript by uncommenting the SNIPPET 1 in myscript.groovy(when in master branch) I can see that teh symlink is created successfully under the symlinkTEstFiles directory but the gradle build fails with below exception :

I am just not able to figure out the cause of exception. Whats wrong with my code ?
If I just execute the myscript.groovy, I do not get any exception and the symlinks are created in both cases i.e. SNIPPET 1 and SNIPPET 2. But the symlink created by SNippet 2 doesnot open.
Why does my groovy script runs fine when executed directly but throws exception when executed through gradle task.
Please guide me.

I am running the latest version of intellij and scala, all in ubuntu 18.
It works however when I run scala in the terminal and type in code.
most likely you are using java and scala versions that are incompatible. See https://docs.scala-lang.org/overviews/jdk-compatibility/overview.html
I'm upgrading SonarQube from the previous LTS release to the most recent one.
I learned that the ant configuration changed, especially regarding binary/library paths.
For one of our (multi-module) projects, I am defining the following property:
<property name="myproject.sonar.java.libraries" value="${general-classpath},addons/myproject/lib/*.jar" />
The ant property ${general-classpath} is a comma separated converted , each element pointing to a specific jar.
When running sonar, it fails with an IllegalStateException:

My guess is that SonarQube that the last element in the defined sonar.java.libraries property causes this: addons/myproject/lib/*.jar
Jarfiles which match this pattern do definitely exist.
Any help is appreciated.
Try to remove ".jar" at the end and it should work. Indeed, for some unknown reasons, SonarSource does not want to update the documentation at http://docs.sonarqube.org/display/SONAR/Java+Plugin. See http://sonarqube.15.x6.nabble.com/Very-misleading-documentation-of-sonar-java-binaries-and-sonar-java-libraries-td5031803.html.
